BJD Crushers expand with appointment of new Technical Sales Engineer 

We recently caught up with Steven Kilner to learn how he’s settling into his new role at BJD Crushers over the past few months. 

Steven has found this role to be a big challenge and one that has pushed him outside of his comfort zone. 

However, his extensive background in mechanical and general engineering has provided him with many transferable skills that have proven invaluable in his new position at BJD.

With almost 10 years of experience supervising mechanical engineering teams at RAF Leeming and RAF Coningsby, Steven possesses a solid engineering background. His role involved supervising a team that was responsible for providing high-quality maintenance, servicing, and repairs to the base's aircraft ground equipment fleet. 

He has also worked at Ibstock Concrete as an Engineering Supervisor, where his role involved machinery maintenance, fault diagnosis, and rectification, site upgrades, and capex projects. 

Since joining, Steven has immersed himself in several areas of the business. He has been reviewing data and documentation for accuracy, interpreting mechanical, process, and material information, and ensuring projects are delivered smoothly. Alongside this, he has been handling customer enquiries, preparing quotations, meeting BJD Crushers’ customer base, and working closely with suppliers. 

Reflecting on his early experiences, Steven says: “My daily role is varied, and can include supporting customers with new projects, handling enquiries, providing quotes, visiting customer sites, offering technical support, and identifying market opportunities for growth.” 

Steven continues: “I enjoy working with the BJD Crushers team. Steve and Andy have vast knowledge of BJD's long and illustrious history and the crushing industry. Their support has been invaluable as I settle into my new role.

Drawing on approximately 10 years' experience within the engineering and construction industries, Steven believes his attention to detail, teamwork, problem-solving, and technical understanding are all helping in his new role with the BJD Crushers team.
